Every year the same pattern repeats in the China sourcing calendar: buyers who place orders in September and October sail smoothly, while buyers who wait until December compete for production slots, trucking capacity and vessel space — or wait six extra weeks for spring. The 2027 window is tighter still. Chinese New Year 2027 falls on Saturday, February 6, eleven days earlier than in 2026. Across most manufacturing regions, including the WholeChainTech production bases in Chongqing , production winds down from late January and does not fully restart until mid-to-late February. Add the pre-holiday rush, when every factory runs at full capacity and freight rates typically firm up, and the arithmetic is simple: buyers needing trailers, truck bodies or cargo box components in Q1 2027 should confirm orders by mid-to-late November.
A realistic backward timeline for a typical custom order:
· ETD (vessel departure): by mid-January 2027 — the last reliable sailings before the holiday lull
· Production plus pre-shipment inspection: 30–45 days, depending on specification and volume
· Deposit, drawing confirmation and tooling (for custom builds): 2–3 weeks
· Working backward: purchase order confirmed by mid-to-late November 2026
The timing matters differently for each buyer type. Trailer dealers and distributors serve spring selling seasons starting in March–April; inventory ordered now arrives with time to spare, while inventory ordered in December arrives just as competitors quote the same customers. Fleet operators and rental companies get a trailer maintained, registered and earning revenue before the busy season, instead of a missed contract from a late order. Body builders and upfitters keep assembly lines running through Q1 with dry van bodies, honeycomb panel boxes and component kits — liftgates, rolling shutter doors, latch systems — ordered in Q4, avoiding emergency air-freighting of parts.
Ordering early also starts with a fast, accurate quote. Send five items with the first inquiry and a factory-direct manufacturer can quote accurately the first time — no repeated clarifications, no waiting weeks for an answer: product type and duty cycle (hydraulic lift trailer, dry van body, flatbed or custom build); key dimensions and capacity (deck or body length × width, payload or GVWR); target market, which determines the compliance package (U.S. DOT lighting and braking, EU ECE standards, or local requirements); axle or suspension preference (leaf spring, torsion or air suspension); and quantity plus destination port for LCL versus FCL and CIF pricing. No drawings? A short description with reference photos is enough to start, and engineering drawings follow at no extra design cost for confirmed orders. Booking with the factory in November rather than December also secures a guaranteed production slot, full engineering attention for customization, and a calm, properly arranged pre-shipment inspection — photos, videos and third-party checks completed without last-minute pressure.
At WholeChainTech (Chongqing Wholechaintech Automotive Components Co., Ltd.), the Chongqing production bases are already scheduling Q4 slots for hydraulic lift trailers, dry truck bodies and honeycomb panel cargo boxes. Standard model lead times are confirmed at quotation, depending on specification and order volume; custom projects are scheduled per specification. Chinese New Year arrives every year, and every year some buyers are caught off guard. The buyers who are not are the ones reading in October. Send specifications this week — request a quote or book a Q4 production slot before the November rush.
